CHIEF OPTIMUS

About Philip Morisky, MBA, Ξ

Founder of Adherence Cartography | Behavioral Precision Innovator

Philip Morisky carries forward one of the most widely recognized names in behavioral medicine; not as a custodian of the past, but as a visionary charting a new course for the future.  Philip established himself as a successful entrepreneur, leading two businesses through to acquisition. His early career was defined by strategic innovation, operational excellence, and a rare ability to navigate both market demands and deeper human needs. These qualities would soon converge with a legacy that called him home.

Philip is the oldest son of Dr. Donald E. Morisky, the developer of the original MGL and MMAS tools, which reshaped the global approach to measuring medication adherence. Inheriting the MMAS meant inheriting more than a set of validated scales. It meant taking responsibility for a framework that had already touched millions of lives through research, policy, and clinical decision-making across the world.

But Philip’s path was never one of simple succession. After several years immersed in behavioral data and global usage patterns of the MMAS, he began to notice something the literature had not yet named. There were patterns hidden between the scores, patterns of stability and fragility that conventional adherence tools could not capture. Where others saw outcomes, Philip saw motion. Where others focused on adherence at a point in time, he focused on how adherence evolves under pressure.

This insight gave rise to the development of an entirely new behavioral framework: the Behavioral Adherence Stability Scale (BAS-8™). From there, the Behavioral Fragility Score (BFS™) and Behavioral Fragility Metric (BFM™) followed. Tools not designed to replace the MMAS, but to expand its vision. They form a next-generation adherence architecture, one that detects invisible risk, classifies behavioral patterns across time, and forecasts instability before it manifests in health outcomes.

These innovations are not merely academic. They are born from a deep sense of beneficence; belief that patients, providers, and systems alike deserve tools that reflect the true complexity of behavior. Under Philip’s leadership, adherence science has moved beyond static measurement and into a new realm: adherence cartography, the mapping of behavioral terrain as it shifts in real time.

As the founder of the Ξxpert™ training program and the architect of the ATLAS™ behavioral intelligence platform, Philip has built an integrated ecosystem around this new vision. A vision that brings together research, digital health, real-world evidence, and clinical care. His work ensures that the MMAS remains not only preserved, but advanced, in the service of both scientific rigor and human wellbeing.

Philip Morisky is not merely a steward of legacy. He is a cartographer of the unseen, charting the behavioral landscapes that shape health and building the tools to navigate them with precision, compassion, and clarity.
